9 months...

.....of BLISS!

Wedded bliss, my friends.

It feels like it has flown by because I have my best friend by my side
If I had been pregnant, I would be having a baby right now.... WOW
(I don't think that time flies by quite as fast....
but maybe someday I will know the answer to that question,
and no I am not pregnant)

I love my sweetheart, Jared--He completes me. He truly is my better half.
The best feeling in the world is waking up next to my man!

I love you Jared.
Here is to many, many more months, years, and eternities with him by my side :)

crafty crafty

You know how there are some people BORN to craft?

I am NOT one of them! But my friend MEL is incredible at crafts.

Check out her blog for the fabulous giveaway for Valentine's Day. I know you haven't bought anything for that special someone yet....SO enter and see what happens!!

I did do a craft-y thing the other day...

yep, I made earrings!! THREE pairs to be exact.
see 'em on my ear??
Granted someone SHOWED me how to do the craft.
Granted it was pretty EASY.
I still feel crafty.
And prettier.
And cooler.
For having tried it and LOVED doing such a craft-y thang ;)

(P.s. to my sisters- for the record, I LOVE the pan from the White Elephant)
check it:
banana bread muffin/cake things (one has a dollop of Swiss chocolate on it. AND no, it is Jared's piece that had it, not mine!)

family + friends

Although we had a sad occasion to attend last week, we also had cause for celebration the next night! It was Camille (my husband's sister) 's birthday :)

waiting for Camille and EJ to arrive for the surprise!
Out of a lot of luck and kindness, we were given a HUGE gift card to Ruth's Chris SteakHOUSE.  We all surprised Camille by being there :) Let's just say the food was pricey and for really good reason, it was delicious. They had one chicken entree and yours truly nabbed that one. My husband (and all the men and some of the women who ordered steak) thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed the steak. The most divine piece of meat he has ever had....since the last time he ate a steak at Ruth's Chris a few years ago.

my starter salad (it was delish)
mmmmm eat that meat sweetheart
I am taking the photo (this is my husband's fam minus one-he is unseen, taking care of the little baby to the right)
We had to continue the celebration and thus ended up at a family creamery to indulge in some serious ice cream creations. Check ours out! You bet we ate that whole thing! Demolished in like 10 minutes flat!
holy delicious!

food coma at the end of the night :)
the birthday gal and her man
me and my sweetie

We had some friends over the other night and here are some pics / recent goings on :) Our life is wonderful as newlyweds and we are grateful for the friends and family in our life!

we have great friends-thanks for stopping by!

we are goof balls, we know :)

In Memory

We attended a funeral this last Wednesday for our sweet, baby nephew, Jace. He died four days after being born on December 26, 2010. He left his mortal life and beloved companion, identical twin brother, Kaden on December 30, 2010. He lived for 98 hours. We miss him, we love him, and we know he went back to live with His Father in Heaven.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family (his mother is Jared's sister, Camille) as they ache and mourn the loss of their son.  They do feel a lot of peace, however, because they know where he is. To learn more about what we believe, click on the button to the left "My Faith."

On the back of the program was this poem written by his great-uncle Max Bushman:

Eternity Twins

Two Valiant Spirit Brothers journeyed together to Earth,
Friends from Eternity, and now brothers of mortal birth.

These two worked and played together in the world before,
They were delighted their bond could grow even more.

For six months together, they developed bodies with the help of Camille,
Eager to come to earth, and do their Father's will.

But a long term earthly relationship was not in God's plan,
And Jace said good-bye, and returned to our Lord, the Son of Man.

They came here, to a home that, though hard, could bear the pain,
Of being separated until all live again.

But, what a grand reunion awaits this fine pair,
Sweeter still with Gavin, Chance, mom and dad there.

Jace has gone to his Salvation, while his Beloved Companion remains on the earth,
He will watch over Kaden and the rest of his family from a heavenly berth.

The pain of separation sinks deep and will never quite leave,
But as we contemplate eternity, peace we may receive.

That poem makes me tear up every time I read it!! Please cherish your loved ones, as you never know when we will temporarily be separated from them. Once again, our prayers and thought go out to Camille and Eric as they mourn the loss of their son. Their other twin, Kaden, is doing wonderfully in the NICU and will most likely be just fine. Both twins were born at 29 weeks, c-section, fyi.

The funeral was beautiful, sad, and quite peaceful....I am grateful to know what we know :)

Happy New YEAR to you all! I sure hope you enjoyed your holidays. It was a fabulous two weeks for us as we celebrated with family, friends, and each other. We've made our resolutions, drank 'sparkly' drinks to ring in the new year, and are geared up for what seems to be quite the year for us. Lots of excitement for what is to come--I seriously love this time of year when we are so giddy about achieving goals, becoming better, and creating new experiences. Here is to a fabulous 2011!
