Best Weekend Each Year

Um, to say I am excited for General Conference would be an understatement.

I love that we get to listen to a prophet's voice (literally). I love that I get to sleep in (Central time makes the conference start at 11 a.m. SCORE!) I love that I get to spend 2 days straight being uplifted, inspired, and touched by the Spirit. I love that I get to be with my family/husband all weekend long.

get to spend the weekend with this hottie! Wheee!!
I love that I get to rest from 'my labors.' I love that I can spend two days crying and it is okay (and quite frankly, normal). And I love that this weekend can stay with me all the days of my life.

To learn even more, check it out here.

To listen/watch/hear the conference go HERE. You will love it! I promise. {It airs 11 a.m.-1 p.m., 3p.m.-5p.m. Sat and Sun, Oct 1-2--all times CST)

And yes, I am a Mormon. And proud of it. And really, REALLY happy to know what I believe :)

Wants And Needs

So, who do we look like??

If you guessed Rapunzel from Tangled, good job :)

OKay so that might have been a little too fun playing around in the Disney store with my sister.....

On the other hand, I found something I NEED later on this weekend.

And they are very adult-like:

Those are a need.

Aren't they SO great?! I fell *head over heels* for them. {pun intended}

Now, how do I convince my husband of this need???

this is an obvious duh! on a date night. My husband knows this and tried to distract me from the trauma of not buying the glitter shoes<---they did hurt my feet after like 2 seconds. Sad face.

Another want:

To eat that cake from my wedding again.

In other news: This Tuesday (September 20) marks the TWO YEAR date from when I first met my husband.

He saw me picking apples (actually I was shaking the tree trying to get them all down), and he immediately fell in love. He was enchanted, I was not. But that's okay. Oh and We re-enacted the whole thing a year later (my idea<--nerd alert!)

And we are still living our happily ever after ;)

*yes we are in the Sep Ensign-and no they are not our identical twins. The photo was taken over a year ago for another Church project that never took flight....so they stuck us in the magazine. Hehe*

Remembering 9/11

I was sitting in German class my Junior year in High School when it happened.

All hell broke loose in school with people yelling in the hallways, teachers turning on the TV's in the classrooms, and with people crying silently.

I had NO idea what the Twin Towers were (I blame no one but myself and my ignorance for that).

But I obviously knew it was a bad thing that airplanes were flying into buildings. But I really did not comprehend fully, the devastation, loss, and havoc that would occur in NYC that day.

We wore black bands that day for our Field Hockey game....to remember the lives that were lost.

As usual, once devastation hit, people turned to God, or whatever Being they believed in. People started remembering what life was really about. People began to care, share, and love a little more.

And then we forgot.

Well, in this article, President Thomas S. Monson calls us to NOT forget. TO never forget Whom it is we should be thankful to and for. And what it is we should be doing each day (the article was written for the WashingtonPost).

I try to not forget what is most important--but I could definitely do better.

To all of you who were affected by 9/11/01, I don't completely or fully understand your loss, but there is Someone who does

Breckenridge Vacation

Holy vacations! One week with my family, one week with my husband's family--all within August!

Whew.

Luckily they were super fun....and we were with awesome people. Or else August would've been pretty awful.

Heh.

It was totally awesome! We'll take it :)

Summer is drawing to an end, and with that, we're speeding up the work on the business (health/wellness/fitness coaching and classes website services). It is SO close for launch. It SHOULD be done by end of September, early October--be on the lookout!
