In Memory

We attended a funeral this last Wednesday for our sweet, baby nephew, Jace. He died four days after being born on December 26, 2010. He left his mortal life and beloved companion, identical twin brother, Kaden on December 30, 2010. He lived for 98 hours. We miss him, we love him, and we know he went back to live with His Father in Heaven.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family (his mother is Jared's sister, Camille) as they ache and mourn the loss of their son.  They do feel a lot of peace, however, because they know where he is. On the back of the program was this poem written by his great-uncle Max Bushman:

Eternity Twins

Two Valiant Spirit Brothers journeyed together to Earth,
Friends from Eternity, and now brothers of mortal birth.

These two worked and played together in the world before,
They were delighted their bond could grow even more.

For six months together, they developed bodies with the help of Camille,
Eager to come to earth, and do their Father's will.

But a long term earthly relationship was not in God's plan,
And Jace said good-bye, and returned to our Lord, the Son of Man.

They came here, to a home that, though hard, could bear the pain,
Of being separated until all live again.

But, what a grand reunion awaits this fine pair,
Sweeter still with Gavin, Chance, mom and dad there.

Jace has gone to his Salvation, while his Beloved Companion remains on the earth,
He will watch over Kaden and the rest of his family from a heavenly berth.

The pain of separation sinks deep and will never quite leave,
But as we contemplate eternity, peace we may receive.

That poem makes me tear up every time I read it!! Please cherish your loved ones, as you never know when we will temporarily be separated from them. Once again, our prayers and thought go out to Camille and Eric as they mourn the loss of their son. Their other twin, Kaden, is doing wonderfully in the NICU and will most likely be just fine. Both twins were born at 29 weeks, c-section, fyi.

The funeral was beautiful, sad, and quite peaceful....I am grateful to know what we know :)
